A distribution network usually comprises several operators in order to actually bring the principal's (usually the manufacturer) goods and/or services to the final customer/consumer. This is usually referred to as the supply chain. This supply chain links several operators in a series (rep office, agents, distributors, wholesalers, retail sellers, etc.).
